Tick season
It is that time of year again.  Ticks have once again survived the winter and they are hungry.  Always do a body check if you have been out in the yard or woods.  If you should find a tick, you need to be careful removing it, so the head does not get left behind.  One way was recently shared by a school nurse and it is as follows:

Apply a glob of liquid soap to a cotton ball.  Cover the tick with the soap-soaked cotton ball and swab it for a few seconds (15-20): the tick will come out on its own and be stuck to the cotton ball when you lift it away.  This technique has worked every time for the nurse, and reports it is much less traumatic for the patient and easier for her.

This is no guarantee, but give it a try, as it may be easier and safer than trying to remove a tick using tweezers.

LAWN SALE                           YARD SALE                          GARAGE SALE
Do yo have items hanging around that you just don't use anymore?  Perhaps someone else can.  the Town of De Kalb would like you to be able to do this with a town wide sale, the first weekend of June, (June 5th & 6th).  Please do use caution, such as avoiding enclosed areas as much as possible.  Do ask people to wear masks, even outside, and remember social distancing.  If you could provide hand sanitizer for people to use, that would be great.  Please use other precautions as appropriate.  Thank you and stay safe!
